“The Nature of Being,” contains 530 pages, 176 illustrations and photographs with 2 871 index entries. A central thesis of this work is the quantisation of consciousness, its manifestation in all the phenomena of the energy-matter continuum of existence, and the arising and evolution of organicity and human consciousness.

The work is subtitled: “An Investigation of Human Intentionality and the Potentials of Consciousness.” Why You are here and What to do about it. It is available in print and full-colour CD format. A fourteen-page synopsis of the work is available on request.

The Nature of Being is all of anti-paradigmatic, pragmatically scientific and transcendently spiritual. In a revolutionary perspective which is scientifically well-grounded yet embodies percepts gained from peaks of human experience, it aims at escaping beyond psychospiritual limits imposed by antique proscriptive and prescriptive tenets and trends of interpretation that dissolve in deeper holistic insight.

Reality is as multi-faceted as the minds inhabiting it – yet all outflows from a single source diffracting into individualities, each offering a view into a connate divine lensed through arduously shaped facets of their own personalities – congenital personalities vastly more than the simple sexual product of parental genetics, and more too, than can be naïvely approximated by an obsolescent “nature and nurture” perspective.

Underlying all polarly opposite percept, natural and synthetic, animate and inanimate, organic and inorganic, consonance and dissonance, black, white, good and evil, is an undivided divine source weaving a universal ontology characterised by glaringly apparent paradox. How we steer our spirit and heart through this internal model of our universe saliently depends on what we understand by self, love, intention, causality, energy and power.

The Nature of Being dares to unify, see the underlying, knowing that what is separated is never mutually isolated except in limited perceptual and modeling faculties of our senses and neurology – instead all inclusively, is in transcendently intimate entanglement and surpassingly close communication.

That view is achievable in a journey of heart, mind and spirit – birthing in heart and intellect both, by authentic response to the call from the infinite spring deep within us all, whatever our species, and the oceanic infinitude it ceaselessly sources and evolves, both our origin and destination, in new beginnings. The Nature of Being dares to address all areas of universal existence, human consciousness and experience from embryogenesis to immunology, from the scientific to the meta- and paraphysical.

About the author:

Frank Valentyn is the author of a number of books including “The Nature of Being,” “The Poetic Stance” and CDs, “Dances in Dreams,” (Classical Guitar Music with his Ten-String Guitar compositions, including pieces by Bach,) “A Reading Selection,” and “Anatomical Latin” for medical and alternative therapy students. Valentyn has six diplomas in electronics, specialising in formal logic analysis and process modelling. He worked in the nuclear medicine department of one of Johannesburg's largest public hospitals and was principal of an electronics college, technical manager of an international telecommunications firm and freelance technical advisor. His understanding of alternative energy sources led to a six-month report, “The Solar Power Initiative,” SPI, submitted to government. He has also been deeply involved in research involving scalar energies, Zero Point Energy (ZPE) and designed innovative technology utilising electron spin resonance (ESR,) the Aharonov-Bohm Effect and discovered a unique magnetic reservoir core material. He is a national prizewinning classical guitarist, lecturer, teacher and composer and had his work performed at the Johannesburg Civic Theatre.

Since a very early age Valentyn realised that his deepest inner calling was in the service of enlightenment – his search for knowledge led him into a very wide spectrum of study that includes mineralogy and gemmology (he has a 400-odd sample collection) geology and geomorphology, crystallography, astronomy and astrophysics, trans-species immunology, human genetics and embryology, mutagenics and teratology, psychoneuroimmunology (PNI, on which he has written extensively) neurolinguistic programming (NLP,) cosmogony, exobiology, neurophysics, ethology, semiotics and biosemiotics, evolutionary biology and archaeoanthropology, meta- and paraphysics, comparative theology and reincarnative mechanisms.

Understanding that in an ultimate analysis there is an underlying oneness uniting all phenomena and processes, the perspective gained from his wide-spread research places him in an ideal position to present this holistic, unifying view, to vitally enrich life with a unique and deeply personal sense of purpose. As an accomplished musicologist and classical guitarist, Frank has a deep understanding of the psychodynamics of acoustic effects - psychoacoustics or acoustotherapy, which he uses in treatment and during his lectures in musical modelling of underlying reality.

Apart from its sheer listening pleasure, this CD is often used during therapy sessions for its calming and evocative musical modelling which elicits moods of both deep relaxation and contemplation.

Frank was born to a musical family in Amsterdam in the Netherlands and has been playing the classical guitar since the age of fourteen. His father, with a Ph.D. in music, started him on the piano but it took second place when he discovered the guitar. He studied lieder and oratorio singing for several years and music theory with his father for eight years. He has taught the classical guitar, acoustics, music theory and compositional techniques both professionally and privately. This CD features his own compositions and other favourites.

The guitar Frank plays is a unique instrument in several aspects: it is a Ramirez ten-string instrument, hand-built in Madrid, and virtually irreplaceable. Although many of this model, “Concepcion Jeronima No. 2” were constructed, this instrument built in 1973 demonstrates a marked superiority in power, depth and quality of tone compared to those of other vintage. The ten-string guitar is not just an “extension” of the standard six-string design – its revolutionary acoustic secret, invented by that ultimate of maestros, Narciso Yepes, lies in the specific tuning of the last four strings which catalyse linearization of dynamic response of the entire chromatic octave by eliciting exact sympathetic resonance. The fullness and equal timbre of tone this mediates is intrinsically absent from the six-string and unachievable with any other tuning.

The piece Danza won Frank a National Music Prize in South Africa and was performed in the Johannesburg Civic Theatre – it is the inspiration behind the title of this CD.

The ancient Greek Lycea of the Ionian Age taught philosophy, music and mathematics together, well understanding their mutual internal reference and the value of that holisticity. Frank is similarly convinced that the guitar, supported by his career as lecturer and principal of an electronics college, has allowed him a path to greater personal growth than any other could have offered.

There are an impressive number of poetry collections, anthologies and literate works that revolve around poetry and reflect on its art. Most of these however are either pure collections, contemplate poetry’s historical development, its literary, cultural and social relevance or concentrate on the “analysis”of poetry – how to read it, how to interpret and understand it. Few if any, focus on the “synthetic”aspect, the synthesis of poetry – how to write it. The techniques available in the continuum of perceived need for self-expression in this medium are therefore mainly limited to a raw unprecedented “go for it” generation or, emulation of existing poetry in its content, manner and style. The criteria of good poetry are certainly present in just that: “good poetry” but its study is not necessarily the only or even the correct, or most effective way, to acquire technique and develop latent ability.

The orientation in this book is totally different – it concentrates on the writing of poetry, stimulates an awareness and development of the relevant formative criteria and focuses on the understanding and application of available techniques. The aim is to stimulate the aspirant poet's powers of observation, choice of word material, understanding of symbolic transformation and to equip the poet with flexibility and effectiveness in the way that this material is moulded to artistic structure. More attention is given to what is possible in poetry and how to achieve it than what has occurred in poetry before.

The book contains 241 pages in nine chapters, twelve schematic figures, seventeen tables, six graded exercise sections with answers and an exhaustive fifteen-page alphabetical index.
